​PERMANENT RESIDENCE (SKILLED REGIONAL) VISA (SUBCLASS 191)

(Regional provisional stream):

​

​This visa is for people who have lived, worked and studied in designated regional area Australia on a previous, eligible visa. 

To be eligible for this visa, you must;

  • hold an eligible visa for 3 years (An eligible visa is a subclass 491 or subclass 494 visa).

  • have tax documents (Notices of Assessment) from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) for at least 3 financial years during the 5 years you held your eligible visa

  • have followed all the conditions of your current or previous eligible visa​

(Hong Kong stream):

​

​This visa gives eligible Hong Kong and British National (Overseas) passport holders the chance to stay and work in Australia permanently if they’ve shown strong ties to the country.

To be eligible for this visa, you must;

  • hold a Hong Kong passport or a British National (Overseas) passport

  • hold an eligiable visa for at least 3 years​. (An eligible visa is a subclass 457, 482 or 485) 

  • have lived continuously in a designated regional area of Australia for at least 3 years

  • have worked or studied only in a designated regional area during the 3 years

  • have followed all the conditions of your current or previous eligible visa

  • ​either demonstrate functional English or pay the second instalment of the visa application fee when requested
